Elderly pedestrian hit by lorry and dies in Choa Chu Kang

SINGAPORE — A 71-year-old female pedestrian died yesterday after a lorry hit her at the junction of Choa Chu Kang North 5 and Choa Chu Kang Street 51, near Limbang Shopping Centre. Police were alerted to the accident at around noon.

The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedics.

A 30-year-old driver has been arrested for causing the death due to a rash act. Police said investigations are in progress. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
