SINGAPORE — Expect to pay less for your electricity bills in the first three months next year with tariffs decreasing by 4.2 per cent.
The reduction is due to the lower cost of natural gas for electricity generation, which fell by 8.9 per cent compared to the last quarter of this year, SP Services said in a press statement today (Dec 31).
The 4.2 per cent decrease is equivalent to a drop of 0.85 cent per kWh compared to the previous quarter.
For households, the electricity tariff will decrease from 20.35 to 19.50 cents per kWh for January to March 2016. As such, the average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats will decrease by S$3.55.
