SINGAPORE — Motorists travelling along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) and Kranji Expressway (KJE) will be able to better view travel information on electronic signboards from Sunday (May 17).
New electronic signboards, which can display text and graphics in up to seven colours, have been installed by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) at these expressways.
The graphic and colour enhancements for the Expressway Monitoring Advisory System (EMAS) signboards, coupled with displays for travel times along expressways and arterial roads, will “improve the readability of messages so that motorists can make more informed travel decisions”, the LTA said in a statement today.
Additionally, there will also be colour-coded travel time information displayed on the electronic signboards located prior to entry of the AYE, KJE and along the expressways.
The new EMAS signboards were part of the overall upgrading work for the EMAS system, which saw signboards along the Central Expressway and East Coast Parkway completed in November last year. All enhancements are expected to be completed by 2017, the LTA said.
