SINGAPORE — A slew of enhancements to improve passenger flow have been made at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS).

This was in response to an incident on April 10 of this year, which saw a jam along Marina Coastal Drive. The traffic jam was caused by an influx of passengers from two cruise ships that created a bottleneck of vehicles arriving and leaving.

Improvements to the centre’s infrastructure include increasing the number of check-in counters and x-ray machines to allow more passenger to be processed at once, and changing the lay out of the taxi stand to facilitate multiple boarding of cabs.

MBCCS has also engaged with taxi drivers to help them familiarise with the location of the port and the drop-off and pick-up points.

Chief executive officer of SATS-Creuers, the terminal operator for MBCCS, Mr Bob Chi said he was confident that the enhancements made will improve operations.
