Fire at Bishan carpark caused by ‘discarded items’

SINGAPORE – A fire at a multi-storey carpark in Bishan that occurred on Monday afternoon (April 24) has been extinguished, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SINGAPORE – A fire at a multi-storey carpark in Bishan that occurred on Monday afternoon (April 24) has been extinguished, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

The SCDF said the fire involved discarded items at a staircase landing at the carpark at Blk 282, Bishan Street 22. It was extinguished by using a water jet.

The SCDF, which had dispatched three fire engines, one red rhino and a support vehicle to the scene, said there were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
