SINGAPORE ― Sixty people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a bar in Orchard Towers on Tuesday night (Feb 6).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident at 7.56pm. There were no reported injuries, it said.

A SCDF spokesperson said firefighters extinguished the fire “involving contents of a bar top” by using one waterjet and one compressed air foam backpack.

A passerby who goes by the name Prince Regalado told TODAY he saw smoke coming out from the second floor of Orchard Towers when he was walking past the building.

The 28-year-old, who works as a steward at a hotel, added that he saw four firetrucks in the vicinity when the incident occurred.

In August last year, a fire also broke out at Orchard Towers. In that particular incident, 15 people were evacuated.
