Fire breaks out at unit in Jurong West

SINGAPORE — A fire broke out in a flat on the 16th floor of Block 158 Yung Loh Road in Jurong West today (April 11).

SINGAPORE — A fire broke out in a flat on the 16th floor of Block 158 Yung Loh Road in Jurong West today (April 11).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call regarding a unit fire at 1.50pm and despatched two fire engines, a Red Rhino and a support vehicle to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers made a forcible entry into the unit and extinguished the fire using two compressed air foam backpacks. No injuries and no evacuation was reported, according to the SCDF.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
