SINGAPORE — A fire broke out at Orchard Plaza this evening (Dec 21).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told TODAY that it was alerted to the fire at 6.50 pm. It took place at the building’s B2 carpark, the SCDF said, and involved discarded items.

The fire was extinguished by the building’s security guards before the SCDF arrived. No injuries were reported.

Orchard Plaza was not evacuated during the fire, the SCDF said.

This incident counts as one of several incidents happening along Orchard Road this month, among them the collapse of the false ceiling at the Hilton Hotel and the Christmas tree fire outside the Knightsbridge Orchard building.
