Fire at Plaza Singapura put out by sprinklers
SINGAPORE — A fire, which broke out in a shop unit on the fifth storey of Plaza Singapore at about 10pm today (July 22), had been extinguished by the sprinklers that were triggered. 80 people were evacuated and no injuries were reported, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said.

Two fire engines, two fire bikes, two red rhinos and five supporting appliances, which included an aerial ladder and an ambulance on standby, were deployed by the SCDF when they were alerted at 10pm.
When the SCDF arrived at the scene, white fumes were seen emerging from inside Mayer, #05-06.
As at 10.51pm, firefighters were seen attempting to break into the store, according to eyewitness Suhaimi Abdullah.
The cause of the fire is unclear as investigations are still ongoing, said a spokesman from the SCDF.
