The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, saw a 21-year-old man attacked by multiple assailants. The victim had suffered a knife wound inflicted by one of his attackers, all of whom had fled prior to the arrival of police at the scene.
The suspects were later identified and arrested at various locations, after a round-the-clock investigation aided by video footage obtained from CCTV cameras in the area.
The five suspects will be charged in court tomorrow. If found guilty, they face a jail term of up to 10 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
