SINGAPORE — The hacker who vandalised the official website of City Harvest Church (CHC) co-founder and pop singer Ho Yeow Sun, popularly known as Sun Ho, resurfaced today (Sept 4) on a new website and threatened to “leak CHC supporters personal information” and other “incriminating evidence” against Ms Ho’s husband, church founder Kong Hee. In his message, posted on a website registered in Spain, the hacker — who goes by the handle “The Messiah aka Ub3r Pr3ach3r” — claimed he is a member of the Anonymous hacker collective and explained why he hacked Ms Ho’s website on Monday. Six CHC leaders, including Kong, are facing corruption charges in an ongoing criminal trial. The self-proclaimed hacktivist today made several accusations against Kong, adding that he had also considered releasing the data of over 5,000 users registered on Ms Ho’s website but decided that it would be “too rash” an action for now – although he would have “no problems doing so … when forced”. On Monday morning, his message on Ms Ho’s hacked website accused the singer of having a “hidden agenda” and ended with the warning: “You do not want to displease me any further.” City Harvest Church said it filed a police report on Monday afternoon, with Kong Hee calling that hack attack “particularly malicious”. The six CHC leaders currently on trial are accused of misappropriating S$24 million of church funds via sham bonds issued by two companies, and for misappropriating a further S$26.6 million to cover up the first amount. The money was allegedly spent on Ms Ho’s music career in the United States.
