SINGAPORE — Audiophiles keen to buy Sennheiser headphones can now loan them free-of-charge for a week at the newly launched Sennheiser Brand Store at Marina Square.

The store, which launched on Tuesday (Aug 2), is Sennheiser’s first ever fully-owned store in Singapore and the second in the world. Its first fully-owned store was launched at its campus in Germany last year.

The Sennheiser store in Singapore though is the only one that allows prospective customers to loan its headphones at no cost, save for a refundable S$200 security deposit.

Presently, popular models like the Momentum Wireless, HD 800S and the HD650 are available for loan. Customers can borrow the headphones for up to a week.

Sennheiser said in a press statement that the service allows customers who are considering a new pair of headphones to take one home before deciding whether they want to purchase it.

Besides the headphone for hire service, the new Sennheiser Brand Store, which replaces a previous Sennheiser store that was ran by a distributor, also serves as a pick-up and drop-off point for customers looking to service their existing Sennheiser products. Previously, customers had to go to the Sennheiser service centre at Alexandra Technopark.

There are also more products at the new Sennheiser Brand Store, compared to the previous outlet. Besides headphones, the new store has a selection of microphones for musicians and video journalists, as well as enterprise audio solutions.

“Singapore is a key market for us, and this is an integral part of our regional go-to-market strategy to continually reach out to consumers here in innovative ways. This brand store will reach out to both music enthusiasts and audio professionals alike through one single touchpoint,” said Mr Martin Low, vice-president, Sales & Marketing at Sennheiser Asia.
