Your favourite burger, pizza and fried chicken can be healthier than a bowl of laksa if you use these fast food hacks.

No matter how clean you try to eat, there are times when only fast food can hit the spot. But satiating such cravings needn’t make you feel bad — not when you know how to minimise the calorie and fat damage.

Chief dietitian Dr Lim Su Lin of National University Hospital points out that you can find healthier options at fast food outlets as many of them have made an effort to introduce more wholesome options to their menus in the past decade. Not choosing deep-fried food will also help to keep your fast-food meal healthier, she said.

In fact, with some smart choices and tweaks, your fast food meal might even be less indulgent than chowing down a greasy plate of char kway teow or roti prata at the food court.
