SINGAPORE — Households using piped gas will pay 2.44 per cent, or 0.43 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh), more in gas tariffs from next month until the end of July.
This is due to a 9.2 per cent increase in fuel costs as compared to the previous quarter, announced City Gas on Friday (April 28).
The current gas tariff (for the February to April period) is 17.61 cents per kWh, excluding the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
It will go up to 18.04 cents per kWh, excluding GST, starting May 1.
The gas tariffs are based on guidelines issued by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), the gas industry regulator. The revised gas tariffs have been approved by the EMA.
