SINGAPORE – Immigration officers uncovered four crates of sexual enhancement drugs at a warehouse in Gul Way, seizing the contents with an estimated street value of more than S$178,000.

In a statement released on Friday (Oct 13), the Immigration & Checkpoints (ICA) said its officers made the discovery on Monday afternoon when they were conducting checks on a 40-foot container that had been presented for clearance at the Tanjong Pagar Scanning Station.

The agency added that, during the inspection, the officers picked a crate that had been declared as “plastic household wares and wooden toys” for further checks and uncovered a batch of sexual enhancement drugs.

The officers immediately opened the remaining three similarly labelled crates and found a total of 11,033 units of sexual enhancement drugs. The drugs were seized and handed over to the Health Sciences Authority.

It is currently unclear who owns the crates, but the ICA said investigations are ongoing.

The last reported case of illegal sexual enhancement drug seizures saw more than 300,000 units of it being confiscated from a private apartment in Geylang on Sep 27, making it the largest haul in five years.

The HSA estimates the haul to be worth around S$700,000.

The largest seizure to date happened in 2012, when 389,268 units of illegal sexual enhancement drugs worth S$1 million were confiscated.
