Home furnishings giant IKEA’s showrooms will feature an additional homely touch — lifelike standing displays of dogs up for adoption, as part of a partnership with animal welfare groups Animal Lovers League and Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD).

Called Home for Hope, the project aims to reach out to a bigger pool of potential adopters and each display will include a QR code on the ‘collar’ allowing those interested to scan for more details.

SOSD Shelter Manager Kieran Kua said: ‘Home for Hope helps us to reach out to a larger audience in our bid to find homes for the homeless.’
