SINGAPORE — Swedish furniture retail company IKEA is recalling two pasta products because they may contain soy which is not declared on the product label.

Pastaalgar Fullkorn and Pastaalgar are sold at the IKEA Swedish Food Market in both IKEA Singapore’s Tampines and Alexandra outlets.

Persons allergic to soy may experience an allergic reaction if eating the product.

The statement from IKEA said that analysis of the two types of pasta “indicated the presence of soy, which is not declared on the product”. “As a precautionary measure, products with all date stamps are recalled,” said IKEA.

The statement also added: “Customers allergic to soy or otherwise concerned are welcome to return Pastaalgar and Pastaalgar Fullkorn to the Swedish Food Market at your nearest IKEA store for a full refund. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

This is the second item recalled off the IKEA shelves in recent months. On Sept 17, the Gunggung children’s swing was recalled worldwide following safety concerns.
