The incident occurred on Sunday night, according to the Malaysian paper. The missing Singaporean, Mr Wuan Poh Fatt, was on a Super Star Gemini cruise ship from Singapore to Penang.
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) told the New Straits Times that Mr Wuan had fallen overboard at about 11.05pm on Sunday. Mr Quan was discovered missing following a headcount before the ship docked in Georgetown, Penang on Monday.
CCTV footage later confirmed that Mr Wuan had fallen overboard about 12 nautical miles off Tanjung Kling, Malacca. The cruise ship’s master of vessel then sent a report to the Kuala Linggi Maritime Operations Centre at 9.20pm on Monday.
