Man arrested for breaking into school in Bedok, stealing laptops
SINGAPORE — A 41-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday (June 20) for breaking into a school along Chai Chee Street in Bedok, and stealing several laptops from the school’s general office.
SINGAPORE — A 41-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday (June 20) for breaking into a school along Chai Chee Street in Bedok, and stealing several laptops from the school’s general office.
TODAY understands the school is Ping Yi Secondary School. A report was made at about 8.16am on Tuesday, and the suspect was apprehended at about 12.25pm.
Local schools are having their mid-year holidays and classes will resume on June 27.
Officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the suspect with the aid of images retrieved from the school’s CCTV cameras and Police cameras (POLCAMs) from the neighbourhood.
The suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday with the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night. He faces a prison term of between two and 14 years, and a fine.
