Woman arrested after man found dead with stab wounds

SINGAPORE — The police will be charging a 26-year-old woman for murder tomorrow (Sept 1) after a 33-year-old man was found dead in a Bukit Panjang flat early this morning.

SINGAPORE — The police will be charging a 26-year-old woman for murder tomorrow (Sept 1) after a 33-year-old man was found dead in a Bukit Panjang flat early this morning.

In a press statement, the police said they had received a call for help around 12.58am.

On their arrival, the man was found lying motionless in a unit of block 636B at Senja Road.

The man sustained slash and stab wounds on his body, and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics around 1.19am.

The police said they have classified the case as murder.

According to reports in the Chinese press, the woman and man are believed to be husband and wife.

They have a 14-month-old daughter who is believed to have been at the scene of the alleged crime, added the reports.

Neighbours also said they had heard shouting and quarrelling from the unit at around midnight.

Another family member is believed to have made the call to the police.

Other than the unit at block 636B, the police have also cordoned off an area at the foot of block 629, which is across the road.

According to Channel NewsAsia, they were seen searching for evidence. Investigations are ongoing.
