SINGAPORE — A 21-year-old man is under police investigation for causing public alarm by allegedly carrying a toy gun at Bugis MRT station.

The police was informed on March 15 at 1.10pm that an unidentified man was allegedly seen carrying an object resembling a rifle at Bugis MRT station.

After identifying the man, the police arrested him at his home in Toa Payoh on the same day, the police said in a press release on Tuesday (March 22).

Preliminary investigations revealed that the object was a toy gun which the man had bought online.

The police said it takes a serious view of actions which may cause public alarm and advised members of the public against such actions.
