MOH seeks feedback on home care, centre-based care guidelines

SINGAPORE – The Ministry of Health (MOH) is launching a public consultation to gather feedback on proposed home care and centre-based care guidelines.

SINGAPORE – The Ministry of Health (MOH) is launching a public consultation to gather feedback on proposed home care and centre-based care guidelines.

The proposed guidelines set out the standard of care that all centre-based care and home care providers should aspire to achieve, said the MOH. They are meant to serve as a basis for training and capability enhancement programmes for service providers.

“Both the home care and centre-based care guidelines describe what constitutes good quality care, in terms of delivering holistic and safe care, the dignity afforded to seniors and the organisational systems and management processes of healthcare providers,” said the ministry.

The ministry added that the guidelines – drafted by two committees comprising service providers, healthcare professionals and policy experts – “reflect many existing good practices in the sectors”.

The Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) will be developing a guidebook to explain the intent of the guidelines and provide sample tools and checklists. To help service providers, the AIC will also develop training roadmaps and curricula.

The MOH aims to finalise the guidelines by the end of this year.

More details can be found on the MOH website at www.moh.gov.sg. Feedback should reach the MOH by Oct 2.

The public can email their feedback to MOH_CareGuidelines [at] moh.gov.sg or send it by post to:
