Special deals from People’s Association, hawker centres for national servicemen
SINGAPORE — A series of special deals will be offered to national servicemen at community clubs (CC), Water-Venture (VW) outlets and selected hawker centres from next month.

SINGAPORE — A series of special deals will be offered to national servicemen at community clubs (CC), Water-Venture (VW) outlets and selected hawker centres from next month.
To claim the discounts, national servicemen need to show up in uniform or show their 11-B identification card.
Announcing the offers to recognise national servicemen for their various contributions to the country on Thursday (June 29), the People’s Association (PA) said they will enjoy a 10 per cent discount when they sign up for courses or book facilities at the various CCs from July 1 to 31. They will also enjoy 10 per cent off selected WV courses from July 1 to Dec 31.
The PA said it hoped these offerings would provide a platform for residents to stay active and form deeper connections within the community, as well as encourage national servicemen and their families to lead an active lifestyle.
A number of merchants’ associations have also rallied more than 150 food and retail outlets in the heartlands to offer discounts to national servicemen.
These not only include stalls at various hawker centres and coffee shops around the island, but also eateries such as Rubato Italian Kitchen & Bar at Greenwood Ave and Maki-San at White Sands, as well as outlets offering eye care, wellness and fitness, personal grooming, lifestyle and even travel services. Participating merchants will display the "We Support You In NS" decals at their outlets.
“Many national servicemen also contribute to our society through their involvement in community work to strengthen social cohesion and racial harmony,” said PA’s chief executive Desmond Tan. “This year, as Singapore celebrates NS50, PA wants to show our appreciation for the sacrifices and hard work of our generations of National Servicemen, who contribute to Singapore’s security on one level and to our society’s resilience and unity on another level.”
