New bus services to the city in Oct/Nov by City Direct Services

SINGAPORE — Residents in Buangkok/Sengkang and Hougang will have soon have more bus services into the city during peak hours.

SINGAPORE — Residents in Buangkok/Sengkang and Hougang will have soon have more bus services into the city during peak hours.

City Direct Services (CDS) will launch the two services over the next two months, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced in a statement on Monday (Oct 3), and 18 additional trips will also be added to some of its existing routes.

The first, CDS 671, will start on Oct 17 and run from Buangkok/Sengkang to the Central Business District (CBD). The other service, CDS 672, will commence on Nov 7 and ply the route from Hougang to the CBD.

These services will operate on weekday morning and evening peak periods, excluding public holidays. Both services will be operated by Rui Feng Chartered Pte Ltd, said the LTA.

Meanwhile, the LTA also said that due to the popularity of the 20 existing CDS, 18 additional trips have been added to nine of the services.

The 20 existing CDS serve Ang Mo Kio (two services), Bedok (two services), Bukit Batok/Hillview, Clementi/Dover, Eunos, Hougang, Jurong East, Jurong West, Marsiling/Woodlands, Pasir Ris, Punggol, Sembawang, Sengkang, Tampines East/Simei, West Coast, Yew Tee and Yishun (two services).

The average ridership per trip for all CDS is about 40 to 50 commuters.
