SINGAPORE — Residents in Punggol West can look forward to stepping onboard the new Punggol West Light Rail Transit (LRT) system next Sunday (June 29), according to SBS Transit.

In a statement, the transport operator said three stations — Nibong, Sumang and Soo Teck — will start ferrying commuters at 11.15am on June 29. This will provide residents with convenient access to the Punggol MRT Station and bus interchange, said the transport operator.

It said its Light Rail Vehicles will operate at a frequency of between seven and eight minutes throughout the day, and the public transport distance fare structure will be applied on its LRT system. The remaining four stations on the system will be opened at a later date as more developments become operational, it added. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
