Ngee Ann Poly principal steps down
SINGAPORE — The Principal of Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Mr Chia Mia Chiang, will be stepping down on March 31, announced NP today (March 13). He has been with the polytechnic for 14 years.
Deputy Principal Looi Mei Fong will be Acting Principal from April 1, and the appointment of NP’s new principal will be announced at a later date.
Mr Chia will be moving to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) to take up his new position as President of NAFA on April 1.
“I am very proud to (have been) part of a great team,” said Mr Chia in a statement. “We have worked hard together and witnessed the growth of the institution over the years, including NP’s 50th Anniversary last year to celebrate our achievements. I will continue to cheer NP on and look forward to more good years for NP.”
“Over the years, Mia Chiang has been the driving force behind NP’s success,” said Mr Tang Kin Fei, Chairman of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic
Council. “He connected with students, identified with their aspirations and led NP to come up with quality programmes that help students make the most of their polytechnic education. We will miss him tremendously and I thank him for his tireless efforts and sterling contributions to NP.”
