No Singaporeans injured in Liucheng blasts: MFA

SINGAPORE — No Singaporeans were affected by the explosions in Liucheng County in Liuzhou, Guangxi, confirmed the Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA) today (Oct 1).

SINGAPORE — No Singaporeans were affected by the explosions in Liucheng County in Liuzhou, Guangxi, confirmed the Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA) today (Oct 1).

Earlier today, an explosion damaged a six-story building in Liucheng County, less than a day after 17 separate blasts, triggered by explosive devices delivered in mail packages, killed at least seven people and injured over 50.

“We are saddened by the loss of innocent lives. We convey our condolences to the families of the victims, and wish the injured a speedy recovery,” said the MFA.

The MFA advised Singaporeans in Guangxi who require consular assistance to contact the Consulate-General in Guangzhou at +86-1392 2296 253 or singcg_gzu [at] mfa.sg. Alternatively, they can also contact the 24-hour MFA Duty Office at +65 6379 8800 / 8855 or mfa_duty_officer [at] mfa.gov.sg.
