SINGAPORE — A former assistant engineer with the Republic of Singapore Air Force was today (Dec 9) jailed nine weeks for paying a 17-year-old for sex.

Goh Wee Seong, 35, paid the minor S$500 for her services in late October 2010.

The prosecution noted that Goh suffers from depression and urged the court to impose a nine-week jail term. In his mitigation, the defence said Goh did ask the girl about her age and she lied about it.

So far, 29 of 51 men implicated in the high-profile online vice ring case have been dealt with. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
