SINGAPORE – The People’s Association has started distributing essential and basic items to the community in anticipation of the haze.

A nationwide WeCare Pack distribution exercise was launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Jalan Kayu constituency today (June 14)

Some 200 packs were distributed to the elderly, vulnerable, immobile and sickly residents there.

The packs contain essential items such as N95 masks and a haze health advisory.

There are also food items like instant noodles, biscuits and canned food.

Over the next four weeks, these packs will be sent to about 26,000 targeted residents across the island.

More than 5,000 members from the community emergency response team and grassroots volunteers will visit residents to distribute the packs and share health tips in preparation of the haze. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
