PM Lee to attend 26th ASEAN summit in Malaysia

SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be in Malaysia from tomorrow (April 26) to Monday to attend the 26th ASEAN Summit, the Prime Minister’s Office announced today (April 25).

SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be in Malaysia from tomorrow (April 26) to Monday to attend the 26th ASEAN Summit, the Prime Minister’s Office announced today (April 25).

PM Lee will be accompanied by Minster for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will be Acting Prime Minister throughout the duration of PM Lee’s trip.

Held in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi, the 26th ASEAN Summit will see leaders from member states discuss progress made towards achieving the ASEAN Community by the end of this year and the direction of ASEAN’s Post-2015 Vision.

ASEAN leaders will also be exchanging views on regional and international issues. They will also meet with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, as well as representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Civil Society Organisations and ASEAN Youth.
