Police arrest two women for series of theft

SINGAPORE — Two female suspects, aged 37 and 51 respectively, were arrested by the Police yesterday (Oct 29) for their suspected involvement in a series of theft cases islandwide.

SINGAPORE — Two female suspects, aged 37 and 51 respectively, were arrested by the Police yesterday (Oct 29) for their suspected involvement in a series of theft cases islandwide.

The two suspects were apprehended at about 3.45pm in the vicinity of Woodlands Centre Road.

On Aug 30, the police received a report on a case of theft occurring in a market located at Jurong East St 24. The victim had discovered a cut on her bag and realised her purse containing S$800 was missing. Thereafter, six other related cases were believed to have been committed at markets in Jurong East, Yishun and Clementi.

Officers from Clementi Police Division, Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Police Transcom, conducted intensive ground enquiries and established the identities of the suspects prior to the arrest. The suspects will be charged in court tomorrow.
