Police investigating parcel of 65 bullets uncovered at Changi

SINGAPORE – The police is investigating a parcel containing 65 bullets meant for another destination which was intercepted in Singapore last week.

SINGAPORE – The police is investigating a parcel containing 65 bullets meant for another destination which was intercepted in Singapore last week.

On Tuesday (Jan 24), the police said an Immigration and Checkpoints Authority officer on duty last Monday at the Airmail Transit Centre in the Changi Airfreight Centre detected the bullets while screening a parcel that was on transit here.

The police is investigating the incident and its spokesman declined to say where the parcel originated from and where it was headed to.

The case is classified as importation of guns, arm or explosive without licences under the Arms and Explosive Act. Those found guilty can be fined up to S$10,000 and jailed up to three years.
