SINGAPORE — A protest was held at Hong Lim Park on yesterday afternoon (July 12) against the Central Provident Fund (CPF) system and MediShield Life.

Eight speakers took to the stage, including blogger Roy Ngerng, activist Vincent Wijeysingha, former presidential candidate Tan Kin Lian and Reform Party chief Kenneth Jeyaretnam.

Speakers took issue with the coverage of MediShield Life, the level of government spending on healthcare, the complexity of the CPF scheme and how CPF monies are used.

This is the second such protest with the tagline #ReturnOurCPF after the first one in June. Both were organised by blogger Han Hui Hui.

She told Channel NewsAsia the protests will be a monthly affair, and the next one will be in August. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
