SINGAPORE — The Public Transport Council (PTC) has decided on the two public transport operators’ applications to raise fares for bus and train services, and will announce its decision on Thursday (Jan 16).

The PTC met this afternoon to consider the fare applications, it said in a statement.

Both SMRT and SBS Transit had applied for fare adjustments on Dec 19 last year. The operators had earlier declined to reveal how much of an increase they are asking for.

The PTC announced the commencement of the 2013 fare review exercise on Nov 18 last year.
