SINGAPORE — 3,700 new units of 2- to 5-room flats will be built in Dawson by 2020, to serve as replacement flats for residents at Tanglin Halt estate which has been identified for Selective En Bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS), said the Housing Development Board (HDB) today (June 27).

Five land parcels at Margaret Drive, Dawson Road and Strathmore Avenue, have been identified to feature an array of commercial facilities like a two-storey hawker centre and eateries, as well as the twenty new residential blocks.

In tandem with SERS, a total of 157 stalls in two existing eateries, Commonwealth Drive Food Centre and Tanglin Halt Market, and 54 rental shops in Tanglin Halt estate will also be cleared by 2024.

HDB will inform all SERS flat owners, commercial tenants and stallholders individually of these plans. Information on the replacement flats for SERS flat owners will also be exhibited from 30 June to 13 July at the former Queensway Student Hostel.

Residents can call 1800-866-3070 for more information.
