Army Chief Melvyn Ong promoted to lead SAF, taking over from LG Perry Lim

Major-General (MG) Melvyn Ong Su Kiat, the current Chief of Army (COA), will take over from Lieutenant-General (LG) Perry Lim Cheng Yeow as the new Chief of Defence Force (CDF) on March 23.

Brigadier-General (BG) Goh Si Hou, Commander 6th Singapore Division, will be appointed COA on March 21, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Monday (March 12).

These changes are part of the continuing process of leadership renewal in the Singapore Armed Forces, Mindef added without giving details of LG Lim's next appointment.
