SAF regular serviceman dies after being found unconscious in Chong Pang Camp

SINGAPORE — A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman died yesterday after being found unconscious at the foot of a building in Chong Pang Camp earlier in the morning, the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said in a press release Wednesday (Nov 30) night.

It was not clear what time the man was found. Three medics arrived at 11.26am and started trying to resuscitate the serviceman.

He was evacuated to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) in an SAF ambulance 10 minutes later, arriving at 11.43am. An SAF Medical Officer continued trying to resuscitate him en route to the hospital.

The serviceman was pronounced dead at 11.50am at KTPH. His age, vocation and length of service were not stated in the statement.

The SAF said investigations are ongoing, adding that it will be assisting the family in their time of grief. Police investigations are also ongoing.

“The Mindef and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman,” the statement added.
