SAF regular serviceman dies after collapsing in camp

SINGAPORE — A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman died on Friday (Feb 10) after he lost consciousness while in camp, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

SINGAPORE — A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman died on Friday (Feb 10) after he lost consciousness while in camp, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

Second Warrant Officer (2WO) Sim Poh Wah, 44, had lost consciousness in Pasir Laba Camp at 7.53am and resuscitative efforts were administered immediately.

He was taken to the Pasir Laba Camp Medical Centre, before being sent to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) in an SAF ambulance, with resuscitation efforts continuing en-route. 

The SAF ambulance arrived at NTFGH at 8.45am, and 2WO Sim was pronounced dead at 9am.

The SAF said it is assisting the family in their time of grief.
