SINGAPORE – More than 2,300 counterfeit goods have been seized by the Singapore Customs from a warehouse in Kaki Bukit Avenue.

Singapore Customs said in a press release today (April 21) that the items were discovered by officers during an inspection of an importer’s warehouse on April 8. Some of the items include 600 sets of earphones, 180 units of power banks and 20 bags, and were brought in via several air shipments from China, according to the statement.

Singapore Customs said it has notified brand owners about the detention and some of them are already in the process of taking legal action against the importer.

Mr Yeo Sew Meng, Assistant Director-General (Intelligence and Investigation) at Singapore Customs said that such illegal trading activities are not condoned and that firm action will be taken against any offenders.

“We will uphold our commitment to ensure a robust intellectual property rights enforcement regime in Singapore,” said Mr Yeo.
