Singapore ranked 3rd among Asian cities for hotels' Wi-Fi: Report
SINGAPORE — Singapore has been ranked among the world’s top 20 cities for Wi-Fi quality in hotels, according to a website that measures the quality and availability of in-room Wi-Fi around the world.

Hotel WiFi Test placed Singapore 12th on its global list of cities, and 16th on its list of countries.
The site based its rankings on two considerations: The percentage of hotels that offered adequate Wi-Fi speeds (judged as having a mimimum download and upload speed of at least 3 Mbps and 500 kbps respectively) and the ratio of hotels that offered free in-room Wi-Fi.
According to Hotel WiFi Test’s findings, 58.8 per cent of hotels in Singapore provided adequate Wi-Fi speeds. 72.8 per cent of hotels offered free in-room Wi-Fi.
Stockholm was ranked as the top city for Wi-Fi quality in the world. 88.9 per cent of hotels in Stockholm provided adequate Wi-Fi speeds and 89.5 per cent offered free in-room Wi-Fi, Hotel WiFi test found.
The top Asian city was Tokyo, followed by Hong Kong. Singapore was the third ranked Asian city.
As for country-based rankings, South Korea topped the list. 92 per cent of South Korean hotels were found to provide adequate Wi-Fi speeds and 73.8 per cent had free in-room Wi-Fi. South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan ranked above Singapore in the country rankings.
Regionally, Asia is at the top when it comes to adequate hotel Wi-Fi speed (49.5 per cent), but at the bottom for the percentage of hotels offering free in-room Wi-Fi (61.2 per cent).
