Singapore Tourism Board suspends licence of travel agent

SINGAPORE — The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has suspended the licence of travel agency Journey of Dream.

SINGAPORE — The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has suspended the licence of travel agency Journey of Dream.

This comes after the STB received 14 complaints between October last year and this month on the company’s “unprofessional conduct and non-delivery of travel services”.

The suspension took effect from April 22, until further notice.

During this time, the company is required to fulfil existing obligations to customers, but will not be allowed to accept new travel bookings.

In its advisory announcing the suspension, the STB reiterated that it adopts a serious view against errant travel agents, and would not hesitate “to take necessary actions to protect consumers’ interests and safeguard the reputation of Singapore’s tourism sector”.

The public was also advised to exercise due diligence when making travel arrangements. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
