SMRT to introduce seven new wheelchair-friendly bus services

SINGAPORE — SMRT will be introducing seven more Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) services to its existing service routes from Sunday (June 14), bringing the total number of WAB services to 52.

SINGAPORE — SMRT will be introducing seven more Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) services to its existing service routes from Sunday (June 14), bringing the total number of WAB services to 52.

They are: Bus services 106, 190, 301, 804, 911, 963 and 983

SMRT made the announcement in a press release today. These bus services will have features such as wheelchair accessible ramps, horizontal handrails and bell push buttons programmed with a chime different from the normal bell to notify the driver that the wheelchair-user wants to alight.

SMRT bus captains of these services are also trained to provide assistance to wheelchair users when needed.
