ST reporter sacked; under investigation by police

SINGAPORE — Singapore Press Holdings has sacked a Straits Times reporter, who is being investigated by the police for an alleged offence.

SINGAPORE — Singapore Press Holdings has sacked a Straits Times reporter, who is being investigated by the police for an alleged offence.

In response to TODAY’s queries, a spokesperson said today: “SPH has terminated the services of a Straits Times reporter, who is being investigated by the Police. As the investigation is still ongoing, we are unable to provide further details at this point in time.”

While the SPH statement did not name the reporter, The Straits Times’ website named him as Mr Eisen Teo. The 28-year-old was a member of the Schools team, which produces two magazines for schools — Little Red Dot for primary pupils, and IN for secondary students. The team also conducts activities for students in its media club.
