SINGAPORE — StarHub is currently investigating the root cause of the “intermittent issue that affected several broadband and Digital Voice users in certain parts of Singapore”, the telco said in a press release today (Nov 27).

The telco said that its broadband and Digital Voice services have been restored as of 6.30pm, adding that it applied a fix to resolve intermittent issues experienced by customers at 5pm.

“We apologise to affected customers for any inconvenience caused,” StarHub said in a statement.

According to StarHub, the disruption first started at 9.30am this morning. Affected traffic was diverted to alternate links and normal service resumed at 11.25am.“At 3.10pm, we became aware that some customers started experiencing intermittent difficulties in using their broadband and Digital Voice services, and immediately commenced investigations,” StarHub said.

Users have bombarded StarHub’s social media channels with questions and complaints today regarding the affected services. Some customers are also facing 4G connectivity problems. Several customers on Facebook are demanding compensation from StarHub.

As of 5.20pm, users commenting on StarHub’s Facebook page said their broadband was back, but others still did not have access to the Internet.

However, even though StarHub said the problems were resolved, some commenters on Facebook said they still couldn’t use the internet.

Facebook user Dallen Lim commented on StarHub’s Facebook post, “I am still unable to use”. Koh Kok Yung also commented, “Still not restored why post as fixed”.
