Clad in a red T-shirt and black shorts, Annadurai Raman (picture), one of the suspects in the Aljunied Crescent car-park robbery on Nov 5, revisited one of the locations believed to be a crime scene yesterday.

Accompanied by three police investigators, the 42-year-old Malaysian arrived at the car park of Block 125, Geylang East Avenue 1, at 3.20pm in a private car. He then led them to a sheltered walkway of Block 125, next to Geylang East Public Library, pointed at the floor and was taken back to the car.

TODAY understands that one of the suspects was at this walkway in the early hours of Nov 5, when money-changer Ali Yousouf Saiboo, 35, was robbed of S$600,000 cash at an open-air car park at Block 110 Aljunied Crescent. Mr Ali was in his car when another car — with five men wearing ski masks — pulled up in front of him. Two of the men then broke Mr Ali’s car window with a metal rod before robbing him.

On Nov 8, Annadurai was the first man to be charged with the robbery, as well as voluntarily causing hurt to Mr Ali.

Two other suspects — Malaysians Tachana Moorthy Peromal, 28 and Ravi Sandhira Sagaran, 27 — were charged in court last Friday. The court heard that a total of eight men were believed to be involved in the robbery. AMANDA LEE, PHOTO: GENEIEVE TEO
