SINGAPORE — The 17-year-old teenager who posted a video on YouTube making disparaging remarks about the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew and of Christians has been arrested.

TODAY understands that about 20 police reports have since been made against Amos Yee since the video was posted on YouTube last Friday (March 27).

The eight minute-long video featured Singaporean Amos Yee on a tirade against Mr Lee. In the video, he also made insensitive comments about Christians and challenged Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to sue him. The video has since been made private.

This is not the first time Amos has been criticised for remarks made on YouTube. In 2012, Yee, who had a minor role in local filmmaker Jack Neo’s movie We Not Naughty, made fun of Chinese New Year.

In the 2012 video, Amos also mocked the origins of the Chinese zodiac. His mother then had told The New Paper that Yee’s video was meant as a joke.
