SINGAPORE — Wet weather is expected to continue over the first two weeks of December.

Over the next two weeks, short thundery showers are expected in the afternoon and evening on five to six days, while widespread thundery showers with gusty winds can be expected between the predawn and morning on one or two days, said the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) in its fortnightly update on Thursday (Dec 1).

On most days, the daily maximum temperature is expected to range between 32°C and 33°C.

On a few rainy days, the daily maximum temperature could reach around 30°C, and the daily minimum temperature, in particular during the night, is expected to be cool and range between 22°C and 24°C.

Despite the wet weather, rainfall for the first two weeks of December is forecast to be below normal. Mean rainfall for December is 318.6mm, based on a 30-year climatological reference period from 1981 to 2010.

The North-east Monsoon season in the region typically lasts from December to March.
