SINGAPORE – Tigerair will start operating under the Scoot brand from July 25, wrapping up the two budget airlines' integration efforts that have been underway since May 2016.
“Scoot and Tigerair aim to complete their integration and operate all flights under the Scoot brand, subject to final regulatory approval,” the carriers said in a joint news release on Thursday (June 15).
With the completion of the merger, Scoot's flight designator code will be changed from the current TZ to TR, the code used by Tigerair flights.
Scoot passengers who have already booked flights will be provided with updated itineraries to reflect the change. Passengers who booked flights with both airlines scheduled for July 25 or later will be contacted about the change via email from June 15 to July 23.
Scoot's webite, www.flyscoot.com, will become the sole flight booking platform, while all existing Scoot-Tigerair check-in counters will be changed to reflect the Scoot brand, the carriers said.
The Scoot call centre will also service bookings from both airlines at +65 3157 6434.
The carriers said the Integrated Scoot fleet will consist of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A320-family aircraft.
The Airbus A320-family aircraft currently operated by Tigerair will also be dressed in Scoot’s livery, with the changes expected to be completed by mid-2018.
Other changes resulting from the integration will include a new uniform for the flight crew.
Scoot and Tigerair started the integration process in May 2016 when they were brought under a common holding company, Budget Aviation Holdings.
