PSLE results out today

It’s a big day for Primary 6 children today. Their PSLE results will be released at 11am today.

In the Courts today...

The three suspects in the Aljunied robbery case will also appear in Court today (Nov 21). Last week, a district judge granted a police request for the men to be remanded an additional week for further investigations. On Tuesday, one of the suspects, Annadurai Raman, was brought back to the scene of crime for a re-enactment.

In the High Court, the Magistrate’s appeal hearing on the former NParks director convicted for lying to the Ministry of National Development over his relationship with a bicycle firm is scheduled for today (Nov 21).

And the hearing on Court application by the Office of the Public Guardian on whether Madam Chung Khin Chun has the mental capacity to revoke the Lasting Power of Attorney she granted to former tour guide Yang Yin continues today in the Family Court.

Robotic walker

A team of researchers at NUS has developed a novel robotic walker system to help stroke patients walk and regain their natural gait. A demonstration with a prototype will be presented together with the research findings this morning.

PM Lee to launch book

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will launch a book to commemorate the nation-building efforts of Community Club Management Committees this evening. At the CCMC 50th Anniversary Celebrations Dinner, Mr Lee will also deliver a speech.

Chinese President makes way from NZ to Fiji

After a swing through New Zealand yesterday following a month of courting international leaders, Chinese President Xi Jinping will travel to Fiji today (Nov 21) to meet leaders from Pacific island nations where China has become a major aid donor in recent years. The trip is part of a global charm offensive by Mr Xi this month, which saw him hosting international leaders at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Beijing and attending the G-20 summit in Australia.

Introducing Sergio Lopez

Singapore Sports Institute and Singapore Swimming will be introducing Sergio Lopez as the new head coach of the Singapore swimming team at the OCBC Aquatic Centre, Sportshub. The Spaniard had been Singapore swim star Joseph Schooling’s coach at the Bolles School in the US until Schooling graduated and recently moved to the University of Texas. It was under Lopez’ tutelage when Schooling won the gold medal in the 100m butterfly at the Asian Games in Incheon.

AFF Suzuki Cup

Ahead of the AFF Suzuki Cup kick-off this weekend, the Singapore team will be training at Jurong West Stadium this evening, while the Thai team will be training at Bishan Stadium.
