Mr S R Nathan to lie in state at Parliament House

Members of the public can pay their last respects to the late Mr S R Nathan at Parliament House from 10am to 10pm today, before his State Funeral on Friday. The State Flag will be draped over the casket, and medals representing Mr Nathan’s achievements will be displayed. Vigil Guards will also be mounted as a special mark of respect. The line for entry into Parliament House will start at the Padang, near City Hall MRT station.

Taiwan’s president to preside over military drills

Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen will preside over the annual Han Kuang military exercises in Pingtung County on Thursday for the first time after being sworn into office in May. The five-day drill began on August 22 and it simulates various attack scenarios by China.

Football action to catch

The qualifying phase for the Europa League competition kicks off tonight with English football club West Ham United and Turkish side Fenerbahce among those in action. In Singapore, this week’s S.League football match-up will see Geylang International taking on Balestier Khalsa at Bedok Stadium at 7.30pm.

Weather forecast

It will be partly cloudy throughout the day. Temperatures will likely range between 24°C and 33°C.
